Uber Driver Assaulted By Nigerian Police During EndSARS Memorial Calls For Help
An Uber driver who was manhandled by the police during the ENDSARS memorial has asked for help in retrieving his vehicle.
Recall that Ezenwoko’s Blog earlier made a report on the assault of the Uber driver by a police officer.
In a viral video, the man was seen begging security operatives as they forcefully tried to make him enter a black Maria.
The driver kept pleading, insisting he had done nothing wrong and there was no one in Lagos to bail him out.
However, the police refused to listen to his appeal, pepper spraying him in the eyes when he kept on struggling.
Most people found the video quite disturbing, with celebrities such as Mr. Macaroni and Don Jazzy calling on the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to set things right.
A new video made by the driver gave a more detailed description of what ensued before the police attacked him.
The driver who identified himself as Adedotun Clement said that he was in his car when he heard the police shooting and he had to abandon his car for fear of getting hit by a stray bullet.
When he returned to where his car was parked he realized the car was missing and asked some people in the neighborhood who directed him to meet some one. On getting there he was assaulted by the police and forced into a Black Maria.
Adedotun went ahead to ask Nigerians to help in the recovery of his vehicle as it was his only source of Income.
