U.K Prime Minister, Boris Johnson Set To Resign
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will step down as leader of the Conservative Party on Thursday, the BBC announced. He will remain prime minister until Autumn. A Prime Minister should be in place for the party’s Autumn Conference.
According to Downing Street, Mr Johnson will make a statement to the country later in the day.
Earlier on Thursday, Finance Minister Nadhim Zahawi, who was only appointed to the post on Tuesday, called on the prime minister to step down “now”. Departures had indeed multiplied in recent days within the British government.
Britain’s new finance minister, Nadhim Zahawi, appointed on Tuesday evening to succeed resigning Rishi Sunak, called on Thursday for Prime Minister Boris Johnson to step down or risk the current government crisis worsening.
“This is not sustainable and it will only get worse: for you, for the Conservative Party and most importantly of all the country.”, wrote Nadhim Zahawi on his Twitter account after the departure of about fifty of members of the government. “You must do the right thing and go now.”

More than fifty ministers have resigned
The Sky News counter shows 53 ministers resigning from Boris Johnson. An impressive figure that begs a question: how many ministers are there in this bloated government? According to the Institute for Government, in May there were 122 ministers in total. However, they do not all have the same prerogatives: there are prime ministers, but also deputy ministers and secretaries of state, as well as parliamentarians exercising official functions linked to the government.
