Two Chinese Nationals Kidnapped As Bandits Kill Security Operatives In Niger

Bandit terrorists have reportedly kidnapped two Chinese nationals and killed thirteen security agents during an attack on a mining site in Niger State.

Ezenwoko’s Blog gathered that the attack happened on Wednesday afternoon in Ajata, Aboki in Gurmana ward of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

Speaking with reporters on Thursday, the Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youth of Niger State, Sani Kokki said the gunmen attacked the mining site and opened fire on the workers and security operatives.

He also stated that the bandits kidnapped a yet-to-be-identified number of people including two Chinese expatriates.

Meanwhile, one of the hostages of the Kaduna train attack has revealed why she protested alone at the Kaduna State Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Wednesday.

Speaking with reporters, the freed hostage said she is protested in order to demand the unconditional release of other hostages still in captivity.

The protester said her husband is among the hostages still in captivity, adding that children, women and others in captivity are being maltreated by the abductors.

The lady said she was among the 11 captives freed by the gunmen after 70 days in captivity following the intervention by Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi.

She, however, urged the Nigerian government to expedite efforts in releasing the rest of the 51 passengers still in captivity.
