Tragedy! Three Siblings Crushed To Death In Osun
A family in Osun State has been left in sorrow after a road accident claimed three of their children on the same day.
Ezenwoko's Blog understands that the victims were killed when a commercial vehicle ran over them on Kajola-Igbominasi Highway in Ilesa, Osun State on Monday.
Reports made available to newsmen revealed that the siblings were on their way to school when the incident occurred.
Attempts were made to rescue the children, unfortunately, they were confirmed dead at the hospital where they were immediately conveyed to.
Angry residents of the area protested the event and blocked the highway, causing gridlock.
Confirming the disturbing incident, the Police spokesperson in the State, Yemisi Opalola, said the police were on top of the situation to restore normalcy in the area.
In a recent report, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Sector Command, revealed that no fewer than one hundred and thirty-seven people died in Abuja road accidents.
The commission disclosed that the casualties were recorded within the last nine months.
The sector commander, Samuel Ochi, who made the disclosure said 10,062 vehicles were involved in the 738 road crashes that happened within the reported months.
He further explained that most of the accidents were a result of speed violations.
Ezenwoko's Blog understands that within the month of January to September 2021, a total of 3,616 people were involved in the accidents. A total of 1,334 people according to the commission suffered injuries.
