The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his utterances against President Muhammadu Buhari.
While stating that the outburst was unacceptable, the APC noted that the apology later offered by Tinubu was not enough.
The party said it may punish the presidential aspirant for the outburst.
Speaking with journalists on Saturday at the party national secretariat, APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu said the former Lagos State Governor insulted President Muhammadu Buhari and described that his action as unbecoming and insulting.
The embattled national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo are among the list of those cleared for the party’s presidential primary.
Recall that former APC national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, who led the l Presidential Screening Committee of the party, had told newsmen on Friday that only 13 aspirants were cleared for the primary scheduled for June 6th.
Sources have now revealed that all presidential aspirants were cleared and qualified but the committee recommended a ‘safe list’ of 13 names.
It was also gathered that Tinubu was the only presidential aspirant to reject the option of consensus candidate, stressing that he would only back such option if he emerges as the consensus candidate.
The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu has said sensitive election materials will no longer be kept at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that Yakubu stated this on Saturday at an election dialogue, ‘The Electorate’, organised by Enough is Enough (EiE).
While revealing that materials will no longer be “routed” through the CBN, the INEC chairman said the electoral body has never had an issue with the CBN since the partnership started.
He, however, stated that due to “current circumstances”, an alternative will be found.
The ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that statutory delegates will not be able to vote at its presidential primaries slated for June 6th to 8th.
Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that the APC was reacting to the ruling which held that statutory delegates can vote at its special convention, where its presidential candidate would emerge.
Recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Kano had ruled that statutory delegates can participate in party primaries of political parties in accordance with the Nigerian constitution.
The judgement was given by Justice A.M. Liman on Friday following a suit filed by Mas’ud Doguwa, Habibu Sani, and Bilyaminu Shinkafi.
There was a commotion at the Lugbe timber market in Abuja on Saturday following the killing of an unidentified man.

It was gathered that the incident caused panic and traffic congestion inside the Federal Housing, Lugbe in the FCT.
Eyewitnesses said the mob action occurred on Saturday afternoon after the victim, who was known for the act of insulting the Prophet, sought refuge in the vigilante office in the market.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has revealed the real reason he withdrew from the presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Tambuwal stated that he stepped down for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at the PDP primaries in the interest of Nigerians and the country in general.
The governor added that he supported Atiku in order to strengthen the PDP and the country’s democracy.
Tambuwal stated this on Saturday while addressing a crowd who welcomed him back at the State Government House on Friday shortly after his arrival from Abuja.

Ezenwoko’s Blog earlier reported the John Odigie-Oyegun led APC Presidential Screening Committee had disqualified 10 of the 23 presidential aspirants of the party.
While presenting the committee’s report to the APC national chairman on Friday, Odigie-Oyegun said only 13 out of the 23 aspirants screened were cleared by the committee.
While refusing to reveal the identity of those disqualified, the former APC national chairman said that only youthful aspirants made the list of cleared aspirants.

According to Security Expert, Zagazola Makama, Ummate Ma also known as Muhamma, who was a Khayd (Governor), and several of his fighters were gunned down on June 1 in Borno State.

A top federal government official stated that Buhari will embark on a short trip to Ghana today (Saturday) and return back to the nation later in the day.
According to the source who spoke to The PUNCH, President Buhari is expected to meet with the APC presidential aspirants on Saturday night or Sunday.
