Tam McManus hints that Joe Aribo should have seen a red in Rangers clash against Hearts
The 25-year-old midfielder played for 75 minutes in the top of the table clash, but the ex-Hibernian player believes he should’ve received his marching orders before then
Former Scotland U-21 star Tam McManus has said that Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo was unlucky not to receive a red card in Rangers Scottish Premiership clash against Hearts on Saturday afternoon.
Aribo was in action for 75 minutes as Rangers were denied the three points after playing out a 1-1 draw in the top of the table clash.
The Super Eagles star was taken off for Steven Davis 15 minutes from time, but McManus believes the midfielder should have received a red card before then.
Aribo was given a yellow card in the 35th minute for a dangerous tackle on Cammy Devlin, but McManus suggests it should have been a red card.
The former Dundee star said on his Twitter account: Got sent hundreds of screen shots last week from Rangers fans slaughtering the Porteous tackle. Every angle on the planet!! Shocker. Leg breaker. Weirdly not received a single still photo of the Aribo tackle today from any Rangers fans. Not one.
But despite avoiding a red card, Aribo could not help his side get the maximum points. Rangers appear to be on course for a victory when John Lundstram put them ahead before the break, but Craig Halkett’s 90th-minute strike secured a point for the away side.
