Shattawale, Three Others Arrested For Spreading Fake News
Ghanian celebrity Shatta Wale alongside three others have been arrested and remanded in police custody for one week for propagating false news.
Shatta Wale and his alleged accomplices, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator made a claim on Facebook that the celebrity was shot in Accra’s East Legon.
The celebrity and the trio pleaded not guilty to the charges of publication of false news and causing fear and panic.
Shatta Wale and his accomplices were arrested on Tuesday, October 19, and have so far spent two nights in police custody.
However, the singer has apologized to his fans for inciting fear in them by the Facebook posts. He also alluded to the prophecy of Bishop Stephen Kwesi Appiah of New Life Kingdom Chapel’s which revealed that he would die on October 18, 2021.
Bishop Akwasi who is the head pastor of New Life Kingdom Chapel is also being charged for causing fear to the general public with his prophecy of the assassination of the singer on October 18.
In other news, Nigerian singer David Adeleke with the stage name Davido has revealed the different effects residing in Nigeria and residing in USA has on him.
David took to his Instagram stories to reveal this. He posted a picture of the first page of his American passport and also did the same for his Nigerian passport.
On his American passport, he wrote “SEE my face for my YANKEE PASSPORT. He went ahead to also post his Nigerian passport and wrote “ SEE My face for my NAIJA PASSPORT, NIGERIA WILL STRESS U.”
On his USA passport, he is clearly looking chubbier and younger while on his Nigerian, he looks exhausted.
