Rivers Assembly confirms Wike’s CoS, four others as commissioners

The Rivers State House of Assembly on Friday screened and confirmed the immediate-past Chief of Staff, Government House, Emeka Woke, alongside four others as Commissioners-designate.

This was sequel to a letter forwarding the names to the 32-member legislature by Governor Siminalayi Fubara for screening and confirmation.

Others given a clean bill of health by the lawmakers are the immediate past Commissioner for Social Welfare also under the Wike administration, Mrs. Inime Aguma; former Director of Finance and Administration, Niger Delta Development Commission, Henry Ogiri; Nwafor Uchechukwu, and Kenneth Gbali.

As customary in the House, Ogiri, who is a member of the State Assembly, was asked by the lawmakers to take a bow and go.

This is the second set of commissioners so far appointed by Governor Fubara since he was sworn-in on May 29, 2023.
