Police Officers’ Wives Embark On Spiritual Exercise Over Bandit Attacks

The Kaduna State chapter of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), has resolved to embark on fasting and prayers against bandit terrorist attacks in the state and its environs.

The Kaduna Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday (today).

Ezenwoko’s Blog understands that POWA commenced the spiritual exercise following a directive from the wife of the Inspector General of Police, Hajiya Hajara Alkali Baba Usman.

Hajiya Usman was said to have directed the women to embark on two-day fasting and prayers to seek God’s intervention over terrorism across the country.

The Kaduna POWA immediately acted on the directive of the IGP’s wife, stating that there is no option left but to pray to Almighty God to deal with the assailants.

The women lamented the incessant attack by the criminals on innocent citizens and their husbands.

“The religious practice, which was led by the State Chairperson of POWA and wife of the Commissioner of Police Kaduna Command, Alhaja Salimat Tinuke Ayoku, was devoted to bringing peace to Nigeria, owing to the recent unmitigated security challenges,” the statement said.

During the prayer session, the women prayed for an end to the security challenges in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole, Ezenwoko’s Blog learnt.

A notorious kidnapper and armed robber, Osita Ogbuiri, popularly known as Shina Rambo, has been killed by operatives of the Imo state Police Command.

The command’s spokesman, CSP Mike Abattam, made this known in a statement released on Thursday and made available to Ezenwoko’s Blog.

Abattam stated that the slain criminal who had terrorised the people of Ohaji Egbema local government area and environs for years was killed by the command’s tactical teams.

He disclosed that Ogbuiri, who was trailed to the criminal’s hideout in Utuma/ Ukwa, a boundary between Abia and Cross River States, engaged in a gun duel wth the police.

Abattam revealed that the serial killer kingpin, who has been on the wanted list of the Command for his involvement in violent crimes, was neutralised during the gun duel while others escaped with bullet wounds.

He added that the criminal was among the inmates that escaped from the Imo Correctional Centre Owerri during the 5th of April, 2021 jailbreak, while serving life imprisonment for the murder of two persons.

The command spokesman added that one pump action gun with seventeen expended and four unexpended cartridges were recovered at the scene.
