Oyebanji’s Victory Was A Result Of His Popularity – Adamu

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Senator Abdullahi Adamu has reacted to the emergence of Biodun Oyebanji, as the Governor-elect of Ekiti State.

Adamu said Oyebanji’s victory was the result of the popularity of his candidature as well as the strong campaign strategies put in place by the ruling APC.

The APC national chairman asserted that the victory was a precursor to the expected victories of the APC in the forthcoming Osun governorship election and at the 2023 general elections.

Adamu stated this in a congratulatory letter to the Governor-elect on Sunday, released by his spokesman, Samuel Jimba, in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.

He stated that Oyebanji has the pedigree, experience and vision to take Ekiti to the next level of development. The APC chairman urged the governor-elect to be magnanimous in victory as he sets out to continue to make the state work.

He also thanked the people of Ekiti for reposing their confidence in the APC and Oyebanji, promising the new Governor will continue to implement the people-oriented programmes of the party started by the outgoing Kayode Fayemi.

It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Sunday, declared the APC candidate the winner of the governorship election in Ekiti.

The Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Segun Oni came second with 82,211, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bisi Kolawole gathered 67,457 votes.

Adamu, in the letter, paid glowing tributes to the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for his guidance for the party going into the Ekiti election.

He promised the President the party will continue to be guided by his wisdom in prosecuting all future elections for the consolidation of his legacies.

Adamu thanked members of the Ekiti APC campaign council led by Governor Atiku Bagudu; the State Working Committee of the party as well as all APC supporters in the State for their hard work, dedication and vigilance which led to the victory.
