Order footballers to vacate SDG facility, Osun community tells Adel

Iragbiji community in Osun State, on Thursday, asked the State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to remove members of the state male team, Osun United, from the Sustainable Development Goal-focused Skilled Acquisition Centre built in the town by the Federal Government.

The community gave Governor Adeleke, a 21-day ultimatum to remove the footballers from the centre.

Addressing newsmen in Iragbiji on behalf of Iragbiji Youth Development Association, Dr. Jimoh Olorede, said those put in the facility were not known to the community.

He also said that the purpose the building was meant to serve would be defeated if the current occupants were allowed to stay.

According to him, Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdulrosheed Olabomi had spoken to government representatives on the issue, where it was resolved that those in the building would vacate the premises.

“We’re aware that recently. His Royal Majesty, the Aragbijt of Iragbiji. Oba Abdur- Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun IV reacted to the undermining disposition of the state government whose machinery just brought unknown agents to the Community and suddenly turned the Centre into a campground.

“The state government, as represented by the Deputy Governor, did well by visiting His Majesty. Aragbiji, upon his reaction. However, reneging on the promise to evacuate the building within seven days is worrisome and makes us wary of possible untoward missions.

“We are giving the government 21 days within which those currently in the facility should vacate the premises. We are peace-loving people,” Olorede said.
