Nigeria’s Europa League hotshot wanted by Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan, Union Berlin

AC Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Union Berlin are all interested in signing Nigerian striker Victor Boniface from Union Saint Gilloise in Belgium.

Boniface has caught the attention of the clubs after his impressive performances in the Europa League this season.

The 22-year-old forward is the joint top scorer in the Europa League with five goals (alongside Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford), and he was named the tournament’s Player of the Week in the round of 16.

According to reports from Calciomercato.com (via Transfermarkt), AC Milan’s intermediaries have had contact with Boniface’s representatives in recent days.

Milan are said to be keeping a close eye on the striker, who could become an opportunity for the team if both Ante Rebic and Divock Origi leave at the end of the season.

Boniface’s name is reportedly on the list of targets for Milan’s sporting director, Paolo Maldini, and technical director, Frederic Massara.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin are also interested in signing Boniface, as reported by Frankfurter Rundschau. Frankfurt are looking for a replacement for Lucas Alario, who has struggled for game time since joining from Bayer Leverkusen. Boniface could provide the solution, as he has the potential to become a key player for the team in the future.

Frankfurt’s Europa League hero Rafael Santos Borré is also reportedly unhappy with his lack of game time and could leave the club in the summer. Boniface could be a perfect replacement for the Colombian, as he has shown his ability to score goals in the Europa League this season.

Union Berlin are also said to be interested in signing Boniface after the striker scored twice against them in the Europa League round of 16 ties between them and USG. Boniface is currently contracted at USG until 2026 and is valued at €6m.

It remains to be seen where Boniface will end up, but the interest from some of Europe’s top clubs is a testament to his talent and potential. The young striker could be a valuable asset for any team that manages to secure his signature in the summer transfer window.
