Nigerians React As Babangida Aliyu Says 2023 Is Too Early For Peter Obi To Become President
Nigerians have taken to social media platforms to express their views after former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu said Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi can’t win the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
As earlier reported by Ezenwoko’s Blog, Aliyu said 2023 is too early for Peter Obi to become the President of Nigeria, adding that probably by 2027 or 2031, Obi can become the country’s leader.
Defending his position, Aliyu stated that 2023 appears too early for him to clinch the nation’s number one political seat as “the name is not dropping everywhere else.”
He argued that the younger people in the country may vote for Obi and he would make his mark in the 2023 contest but the former Anambra State Governor may have to wait till like 2027 or 2031 before he can become the President of Nigeria.
The former Niger State Governor who made his view known on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm said Nigerians are not ready for Obi.
Following his submissions, Nigerians have been reacting and below are some of the reactions culled by Ezenwoko’s Blog from Twitter.
The way all these older politicians talk and react about @PeterObi you would notice fear in them, like a baby that sensed they are about to remove feeder from his/her mouth#Babangida Aliyu, #Nednwoke #CCTV

Just like every Nigerians, Gov Babangida Aliyu is at liberty to speak on Peter Obi chances in 2023. I see some people saying he could not determine who succeed him ? In a state where they have IBB and Abdulsalam and the Chief judge is Fati Abubakar?

Twitter is very slippery babangida aliyu and ned nwoko in the mud.

Ned Nwoko and Babangida Aliyu I don’t blame you and people who say Peter Obi does not have structure. During campaign ehn, the crowd you would see behind “Okwute” will pass a message louder than #EndSARS

In the coming months, more politicians like Ned Nwoko and Babangida Aliyu will come out to tell us how and why Peter Obi isn’t ready for 2023.
They can’t have someone put sand in their garri.
After we make anoda wrong choice, we will come out talking about how we are oppressed— Peter Obi’s glasses in ibadan🇳🇬 (@meka_utc) June 21, 2022
So ashamed of what Babangida Aliyu said about Peter obi coming out too early to be the president of Nigeria. So it means that one must enter the league of the ancestors to be able to lead Nigeria? He knows he’s competent o but his problem is that it’s too early. 60+yrs old man?

Babangida Aliyu is advising Peter Obi to wait for 2027. Nothing Musa no go see for gate. This is a man who lost his state to APC immediately after he left office. Now he is giving his “loser’s perspective”. Peter Obi should be the one advising him, and not the other way round.

With all his years as a politician he Babangida Aliyu still lacks knowledge in politics 101. Nothing can Trump the will of the people. Who does Aliyu think PVC recent surge is for?

Someone should tell Babangida Aliyu that Peter Obi would be President of Nigeria by 2023. If he cannot stand it, he should go into a comma and wake up by 2027
If you Obidient retweet aggressively!

Babangida Aliyu is an empty drum. Always making noise. No electoral value. He has killed PDP in Niger State. Let’s see if he will deliver his state for PDP next year. He thinks it’s by following Atiku up and down. https://t.co/jeg2JBeUod

Everyone seems to have a say on why Peter Obi cannot win the 2023 presidential election. Is he the only presidential candidate? Babangida Aliyu and others should sell their fears elsewhere cos we’re Obidient and we aren’t buying!

On Perter Obi @Official_LPN Presidency “The young people might go for him, the name is not dropping everywhere else. I doubt if Nigerians are ready for him now as a presidential person.” ~Babangida Aliyu
Is this what the political elites think about the youths???#EndSARS pic.twitter.com/wh7dl62MR9

Babangida Aliyu is fanatically corrupt. Throughout his 8yrs til this day, the only road to Niger is a pothole ridden death trap. A state wit power plants but gets only 6hrs electricity. He looted the destiny of nigerlites while deceiving them wit his oratory& chief servant slogan

Babangida Aliyu is right about peter obi not being ready yet, he needs to campaign under a party that has better structure like PDP and APC.
Either Tinubu or Atiku will be the next president of this country. Thou, I will still vote for Peter Obi in the 2023 election.
