The PUNCH: There are strong indications that moves by some governors to secure licences for their respective volunteer corps to carry assault rifles and combat the raging insecurity in their domain may continue to hit a brick wall.


The GUARDIAN: Indications have emerged that unless the Federal Government takes decisive steps to curb insecurity and address the crisis in the aviation sector, economic activities across the country may experience worse downturn in the nearest future.


This Day: President Muhammadu Buhari says his government has recognised that some of the security challenges confronting Nigeria were imported by foreign elements and has accordingly adopted bilateral and multilateral arrangements to tackle the problem.Buhari, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, stated this yesterday at the graduation of Course 30 of the National Defence College (NDC) in Abuja.

There is dignity in labour and many hardworking Nigerians daily engage in menial jobs and other small scale businesses to earn decent and legitimate incomes to put food on their tables. However, some Nigerians, rather than engage in legitimate activities to earn decent incomes, choose to do some unthinkable things to make money and live large.
