Napoli provide new details over Osimhen’s involvement against Hellas Verona

The 22-year-old has missed the Neapolitans last two matches after suffering a gastrocnemius contracture in his right calf

Napoli have officially confirmed that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is fully fit after naming him in the squad for the clash against Hellas Verona.

Osimhen had missed Napoli’s Serie A clash against Salernitana and the Europa League trip to Legia Warsaw due to a calf injury he picked up in training ahead of the match against the Garnets.

As a result, he was considered a doubt for the league game against Verona. However, having returned to training, he has been included in the squad for Sunday’s encounter at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Osimhen’s return is a huge boost for Serie A leaders. The Nigerian international has been the best player in Luciano Spalletti’s team this season.

He has five league goals in nine games and another four in three Europa League matches. A win for Napoli could see them go three points clear of AC Milan, who play Inter Milan later on Sunday.
