2023: PDP Is Dead And Buried In Ebonyi – Umahi

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has no standing structure in his state.

Speaking on Monday during his appearance on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily programme, Umahi said the opposition party is “dead and buried” in the South East state.

The Ebonyi governor added that the major opposition party cannot be reckoned with in the political discussion in the state and cannot be considered as a serious party.

The Ebonyi governor said the delay in the commencement of the APC's presidential campaign will not hurt the party's chances at the polls.

Senatorial Race: Resign Honourably Or Face Disgraceful Defeat – Etiebet Warns Akpabio

Former Affairs Minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio has been warned to withdraw from the race for the Akwa Ibom North West senatorial seat.

The warning was handed down by former Minister of Petroleum, Chief Don Etiebet who noted that it is not the turn of Akpabio's region in Akwa-Ibom State to produce the candidate for the seat.

He added that should Akpabio insist and contest the election, he would be disgraced at the polls because the people won't vote for him.

Ezenwoko's Blog reports Etiebet bared his mind on the matter while speaking with newsmen over the weekend.

Defending his position, Etiebet submitted that it is the turn of Abak 5 federal constituency not Ikot Ekpene federal, where Akpabio hails from, to occupy the Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district seat.

2023: It's Not About First To Start, APC Will Soon Overtake Labour Party – Umahi Boasts

The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has declared that the early campaigns of the Labour Party does not automatically guarantee victory for the party in the 2023 polls.

This is as he boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will overtake the LP when the ruling party commences its rallies and mobilisation nationwide.

Ezenwoko's Blog reports Umahi, who is the South-East Chairman for the APC presidential campaign council made the submission on Monday during a guest appearance on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily programme.

He stated this when he was asked about the seeming delay in the commencement of the APC presidential campaigns while the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have rolled out some programmes including rallies in major cities.

Defending the delay from APC, Umahi said it is nothing to worry about and there is still enough time to run credible campaigns.

Why PDP Officials Returned Money Sent Into Their Account – NWC Member

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has revealed why some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) returned the money sent for their housing allowance.

Ezenwoko's Blog had earlier reported that some members of the PDP NWC returned the money forwarded to their account by the party leadership.

The NWC member who spoke with Daily Independent on condition of anonymity said the NWC members returned the money based on the instruction of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

He claimed that Governor Wike has the intention to bring the PDP down having lost out in the presidential and vice presidential races.

Atiku Is Old And Frail, Tinubu Is Sick – Fr Kelvin Reacts To Viral Videos

A popular Catholic priest, Rev Fr Kelvin Ugwu, has reacted to viral videos of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) counterpart Atiku Abubakar.

Ezenwoko's Blog reports that a video of the APC flag bearer had gone viral on Sunday. Tinubu had shared the video to dispel rumours that have called his health into question.

Similarly, another video of Atiku dancing to a song by a popular artiste also went viral on Sunday.

Reacting, via his verified Facebook page, the clergyman stated that the videos show the weakness of the two presidential candidates.

Fr Kelvin argued that the videos have exposed their need for validation and have shown how physically weak they are.

He opined that the two politicians are greedy and have also surrounded themselves with greedy people who have refused to give them honest opinions about their presidential ambitions.

2023: Atiku Informs His Supporters How He Will Run His Campaign

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Monday revealed the type of campaign he will run ahead of the 2023 general elections.

According to Atiku, he will not run a campaign where he would insult people, but state his unity agenda.

The former vice president said the 2023 race will be between a leadership who has come prepared and the one that wants to continue the current disastrous reality.

He further stated that he and his team are prepared to assume leadership of the country, adding that other candidates can not come close.

Former Zonal Spokesperson Says PDP Is Resolving Its Crisis

The House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2, Lere Olayinka has disclosed that the gladiators in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently talking out issues in order to resolve the numerous crisis plaguing the party.

According to Olayinka who was a southwest PDP spokesperson, political parties are about crisis and crisis resolution and it is normal, so crisis within the PDP is not an exception.

He gave assurance that discussions are underway to resolve the party's crisis, noting that the party has faced greater issues and certainly this one too will be settled.

He maintained that politics is about people protecting their interests and that the moment people are assured that their interests are adequately taken care of, all these issues will fizzle out.

2023: Tinubu's Workout Video Being Circulated Without His Knowledge

The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has claimed that the workout video of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, was being circulated without his consent.

Ezenwoko's Blog had reported that Tinubu in the video released via his Twitter handle on Sunday, denied reports that he has withdrawn from the 203 presidential race.

In a statement released alongside the video, Tinubu stated that he is strong, healthy and ready to serve Nigerians from day one in office.

But speaking on Monday during a guest appearance on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily programme, Umahi said the APC presidential candidate's video shouldn't attract unnecessary attention.

The Ebonyi governor added that Tinubu is fit to lead the country in 2023, asking Nigerians to disregard rumours of his ill health.

Housing Allowance Scandal: Why We Can't Go After PDP Officials — EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reacted to the financial scandal rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ezenwoko's Blog had earlier reported that some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the main opposition party returned money sent to their account for housing allowance by the party.

The NWC members who returned the sum of over N122 million to the party account include the Deputy National Chair­man (South), Taofeek Arapaja, National Woman Leader, Stella Effah-Attoe, National Vice Chairman (South-South), Dan Orbih, and three others.

EFCC in its reaction on Sunday stated why it may not invite the national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu and other NWC members.

The commission while reacting to the call to invite Ayu and other NWC members said it cannot invite PDP offi­cials as nobody has written any petition on the financial scandal.

A top official of EFCC who spoke on condition of anonymity stated this in a chat with Daily Independent.

2023: APC Campaign Council Fixes Date To Hold Inaugural Meeting

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has fixed a date for its inaugural meeting.

Ezenwoko's Blog gathered that the inaugural meeting would take place on Tuesday, October 4 at the PPC Headquarters in Abuja, the nation's capital.

A source told This Day that the meeting would involve all Directors and PCC leaders in all the states of the Federation.

Recall that the ruling party had on September 28 scheduled a peace walk and prayers to officially kick off campaigns for the 2023 presidential election, but was suspended indefinitely.

Tinubu Intensifies Plot To Oust APC's Adamu As Osinbajo, Amaechi, Mustapha Snub Campaign

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly begun moves to remove and replace the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

It was gathered that Tinubu and Adamu have been having a running battle which reportedly started when the APC openly backed Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, during the party's presidential primaries.

According to sources, Tinubu alongside some governors are already shopping for the chairman's replacement and they might meet President Muhammadu Buhari soon over the move to remove Adamu.

A close ally of Tinubu, who is also a member of APC PCC, accused Adamu of not managing the crisis in the party well.

Wike vs Atiku: PDP BoT May Back Ayu's Removal, Uncomfortable With Arapaja

Pressure is being mounted on the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, to resign for peace to return to the main opposition party.

It was gathered on Sunday that the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) might ask him to quit for a candidate from the South.

Ezenwoko's Blog reports that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his allies, known as the G-5, have called for Ayu's removal or resignation as a condition to begin peace talks and be involved in the presidential campaign of the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The group had accused the PDP chairman of being partial during the party's presidential primaries, asking Ayu to give way to a southerner after promising to resign if a northern presidential candidate emerged.

According to The Nation, the PDP BoT members are set to meet with Wike and his group tomorrow in Port-Harcourt, the state capital, to deliberate on options for resolving the crisis of confidence in the party.

It is, however, unclear if Atiku or Ayu will accept the recommendation of the BoT led by former Senate President Adolphus Wabara.
