Ladoja Reportedly Supports Balogun As Olubadan-elect
Former Governor of Oyo State and Osi Olubadan, Rashidi Ladoja has backed the nomination of Senator Lekan Balogun as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that Ladoja was absent at the meeting of the Olubadan-in-Council held on Wednesday at the Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the state capital.
It was learned that his absence followed the decision of the kingmakers to endorse the nomination of Balogun as the next Olubadan.
The kingmakers stated that no court case would stop the appointment and installation of the next Olubadan
Speaking with reporters at his Bodija house on Thursday, Ladoja expressed his support for the Otun Olubadan as the next King and backed the decision of the kingmakers.
The former governor revealed that there is no controversy about who becomes the next Olubadan after the demise of Oba Adetunji, asking his supporters to be calm.
He also denied his involvement in the letter written by the former Commissioner for Justice in the state, Michael Lana, opposing Balogun’s imminent ascension to the throne.
He said: “Uninformed people are just causing unnecessary tension in Ibadan.
“There is no controversy about who becomes the next Olubadan after the demise of Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso I”.
