Kano: Ganduje Ready To Reconcile With Kwankwaso
The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has expressed readiness to close ranks and reconcile with his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Ganduje said both of them are working towards a reconciliation and putting the past behind them, noting that the issues that caused a disagreement between them are normal in politics.
The Governor who made the submission during a recent interview with Radio France blamed some political opportunists as responsible for promoting the feud between the two leaders.
He said: “You know there are people who are used to fuelling issues. So, we are working on them towards seeing that we beat their actions and reconcile.”
“This kind of issues are normal in politics and God willing it will come to pass. Everyone knows that reconciliation is always the best. We hope God will help those who pledge to reconcile us to succeed.
“From our part, we are ever ready to come forward and reconcile. It’s not like we are refusing. There are people from both parties who are driving this issue but like I said, everything that sense is applied into, I think we will get over it.”
Ezenwoko’s Blog recalls Governor Ganduje of Kano State on Tuesday visited his former political leader, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso over the death of his younger brother.
Rabiu’s younger brother, Inuwa Kwankwaso, died in the early hours of Monday at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a protracted illness. He died at the age of 64.
Visiting his predecessor at his Bompai residence on Miller road in Kano state, Ganduje condoled with Kwankwaso over the death of his brother and father, Musa Kwankwaso.
Despite their rift, Kwankwaso invited Ganduje to the grave of his brother and special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
Minutes later, Kwankwaso and his successor met behind closed doors which lasted for some minutes before Ganduje departed the former governor’s residence.
