Kaduna Farmers Threaten To Carry Arms If Killings, Kidnapping Persist

Farmers in Kaduna State have expressed their grievance over incessant bloodshed and kidnapping in their communities by bandit terrorists.

While challenging the government to step up fight against terrorism, the locals threatened they may be forced to take up arms if the incessant killings persist.

The lamentations, Ezenwoko’s Blog understands was coming from the association of farmers in Kajuru, Mararaban Rido, Kachia, Kargoro, Kawo and Zaria, all communities in Kaduna State.

Represented by their Chairman, Ibrahim Mustapha in a statement handed to newsmen in the weekend, the farmers mentioned that they spent eight days at home without going to the farm due to insecurity.

According to them, bandit terrorists caged and relegated them to their huts, preventing them from going to their farms.

Mustapha recalled that since 2015 when bandits spread across the state, they were no longer free to go to their farms as they would love to.

He said: “Since 2015, when bandits took over Kaduna and its environs, we have been afraid of going to the farm.

“They have kidnapped many of our people and paid a huge amount of ransom. Some have been killed, while those who managed to pay the ransom have remained in abject poverty till now.”

He pleaded with security agents in the state to intensify efforts aimed at combating crime in the state.
