Just In: Fuel Tanker Explosion Rocks Anambra – [Photos]
Chaos has been reported at the Upper Iweka junction of Onitsha, Anambra State after a fuel tanker exploded on Friday morning.
Reports reaching Ezenwoko’s Blog at this time confirmed that the incident happened around 8:30 am today.
The tanker according to reports had broken down along the busy Onitsha-Owerri Road in front of the Relief Market before it exploded this morning.
The development had caused a long standstill of vehicles in and out of Onitsha.
The Punch reports that Fire Service both from Anambra and Delta states have arrived at the scene and are battling to put off the raging fire amid a shortage of water.
Ezenwoko’s Blog learnt that many shops and buildings at the location have been affected by the explosion before the arrival of the fire servicemen.
Meanwhile, a new report has emerged about the killer of five-year-old, Hanifa Abubakar, Abdulmalik Tanko, the proprietor of Noble Kids Academy Nursery and Primary School, Kwanar Dakata in Nasarawa Local Government of Kano State.
Tanko has been in the news in the past few days over the abduction and murder of Hanifa, a pupil of his school.
The news of the murder of Hanifa has stirred reactions across the nation with some asking who is to be trusted in this world.
A resident of the community who spoke with Daily Trust disclosed that the suspect was sacked from a private school, Ete Inoh International School, in Tudun Wada, over alleged misappropriation of funds.
The resident further stated that Tanko functioned as a teacher and headmaster before he was relieved of his duty in the school.
According to the resident, the suspect relocated to Tudun Murtala after he was sacked from the school.
He added the case was settled in one of the police stations in the area.
