ICSAN gets new registrar


The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria has announced the appointment of Mr Babatunde Okuneye as the registrar and Chief Executive of the institute.

 The appointment was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chairman of the Publicity and Advocacy Committee, ICSAN, Nkechi Onyenso, recently in Lagos.

 Okuneye served as the private secretary to the Deputy Governor of Lagos, Olufemi Pedro, from 2003 to 2007.

Onyenso highlighted that Okuneye would be bringing an abundance of experience and achievements to his new position.

 She noted that he earned his Higher National Diploma in Business Administration from Lagos State Polytechnic, with a Postgraduate Diploma and an MBA in Marketing from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.

 Okuneye served as deputy registrar of operations at ICSAN from 2017 to 2018 before his current appointment.

 “He holds affiliations with prestigious professional bodies, including being an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.

“His professional trajectory encompasses noteworthy roles at Equity Indemnity Insurance Company Ltd., First Chartered Insurance Company Ltd., First Atlantic Bank Plc, and Virgin Nigeria Airways, among various other engagements,” she added.

 According to Onyenso,  Okuneye’s commitment to continuous learning is evident through his participation in various training programmes, covering topics such as Repositioning Directors for Values-Based Leadership, Contemporary HRM Practice: Issues and Challenges, and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Auditor’s training.

 Okuneye belongs to several professional bodies that include the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and Certified Recruitment Analyst by Carlton Advanced Management Institute/Middle Earth HR.
