Gunmen Kill Baptist Church Pastor, Another In Kaduna
Some unknown gunmen have reportedly killed a Baptist Church pastor and one other in Kaduna State.
The report reaching Ezenwoko’s Blog at this time confirmed that the clergyman and the other victim were killed on Monday evening while on their way home from their farms.
The incident reportedly happened around 6:00 pm in Lisuru Gida, Ikulu Chiefdom, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of the state.
A source who reportedly narrated the incident to The PUNCH, described the assailants as Fulani herdsmen, adding that the community has been under threat.
“The Fulani have turned our farms into grazing fields and we have been living under security threats,” the source who reportedly pleaded not to be mentioned said.
He added: “Neighbouring communities have always always been suspicious of the local Fulani who we see as our neighbour.”
He, however, assured that normalcy has returned to the community while calling on the government to redouble its effort in ensuring that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are apprehended.
Efforts made in a bid to confirm the incident from authorities, however, proved abortive as the state police spokesperson, Mohammed Jalige, could not be reached as at the time the reports was given, Ezenwoko’s Blog understands.
The recent attack is coming a few days after bandits terrorists have released five students of Bethel Baptist School and their Matron after spending days in their abductor’s den.
Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that the release of the abducted persons was confirmed by the Nigerian Baptist Convention in a statement released on Friday.
