GOC urges troops to maintain high standard of discipline
The General Officer Commanding, 2 Division Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Bamidele Alabi, on Saturday, urged the troops to continue to be hardworking and remain loyal to the President and Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He gave this advice in his welcome address during the 2023 West African Social Activities, held at Maj. Gen. JM Inienger Sports Complex, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Alabi further charged them to remain resolute and highly committed to achieving the command philosophy with an emphasis on sound administration, effective leadership, and operational effectiveness.
The GOC said, “I urge all the troops of 2 Division to continue to be hardworking, maintain a high standard of discipline, and remain loyal to the President and Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We must also remain resolute and highly committed to achieving the command philosophy with an emphasis on sound administration, effective leadership, and operational effectiveness.
It is also imperative for us to respect constitutional authority and be proactive in responding to security challenges and dealing with threats to the peace and security of our dear country, in cooperation with other security agencies, especially within 2 Div areas of responsibility.
In his speech, the state Governor, Seyi Makinde, whose message was delivered by his Special Adviser on Security, retired CP Fatai Owoseni, thanked the officers and other ranks for all the efforts towards ensuring a safer and more secure Oyo State.
He said, “The state appreciates the service for everything that has been doing, especially with the recent incident of explosion that was recorded in Ibadan. As we start the new year, the state looks forward to strengthening collaboration to tackle the security challenges in the state.”
