Full List Of Approved Universities In Nigeria According To The NUC
The updated list of approved universities in Nigeria has been made public by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
According to the commission, Nigeria currently has a total of 198 universities, comprising 45 federal universities, 54 state-owned universities, and 99 private universities.
The NUC also listed the year of establishment for each of the accredited universities in Nigeria.
The figures and details were given in the October 2021 bulletin of the Commission which also contained other activities of the NUC as published by the office of the NUC Executive Secretary.
Apart from the approved universities, the NUC also cautioned members of the public against attending universities or campuses of foreign universities that have not been duly accredited.

Meanwhile, the Presidency has stated that the Muhammadu Buhari government will continue to support and protect journalists in the country.
Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, made this known at an event to commemorate 2021 International Day to end Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, in Abuja on Tuesday.
Adesina stated that journalists play a critical role in the development of the nation, adding that the Buhari government will continue to provide a conducive environment for them to thrive.
The presidential spokesman, however, said that the current administration does not support crime or impunity against reporters in the country, saying it has always respected the rights of journalists.
Adesina recalled how the media office intervened when Punch correspondent had issues in the villa which was resolved amicably.
