Former Transport Minister Ibrahim Bio Defects To PDP

A former Minister of Transportation, Ibrahim Bio, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that the PDP spokesman in Kwara State, Tunde Ashaolu, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Ilorin, the state capital.

Ashaolu stated that the former minister defected alongside his supporters at his Gure/Gwasoro Ward in Baruten Local Government Area of the state.

He added that Bio, who was former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, was welcomed to the PDP with fanfare and celebration.

Ashaolu, however, commended Bio for taking the bold step to join the party, expressing hope that Bio’s defection would strengthen the party.

He said, “The action reflects the wishes of Kwarans who are tired of the misrule of the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led administration. We are pleased to welcome former Minister Ibrahim Isa Bio and his followers into the Kwara PDP family.

“We applaud his voluntary bold and timely decision to dump the retrogressive and dysfunctional APC and pitch tent with our party that is moving from strength to strength.

“As a respected community leader and experienced politician, the party has no doubt that the entry of Bio to the party, will further strengthen the PDP.

“The repositioned Kwara PDP is poised to reclaim power from the APC and deliver good governance to the people of Kwara.”
