EXCLUSIVE: West Ham have not signified interest in Super Eagles star

Several reports have linked West Ham Utd with a move for Union Berlin’s Super Eagles forward but the man closest to the deal has denied such links

Taiwo Awoniyi’s German agent Max Brommer has denied reports linking the attacker to a move to the London Stadium.

The agent revealed exclusively to Soccernet that reports linking both parties are untrue but didn’t rule out a move to the Premier League.

“No, definitely not true,” Brommer said on reports linking the Hammers with Awoniyi.

“But a move to Premier League this summer is an option. It will take time,” he concluded.

Awoniyi has been a key cog in the Iron Ones’ pursuit of European football this season. With the Europa Conference League already secured, Union face a final title chase against VFL Bochum to secure a Europa League spot.

This season, the Super Eagles forward became the first player in the history of Union Berlin to score 13 goals in the Bundesliga and has become a fans favourite at the club.

The Premier League clubs that may be interested in securing Awoniyi’s services are yet to be announced.
