EkitiDecides2022: SDP Candidate, Segun Oni Wins Polling Unit With 90 Percent Votes
The candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Ekiti State governorship election, Segun Oni has won his polling unit.
Oni at his Polling Unit 6, Ward 4, located at Town Hall, Ogbon Iro, Ifaki-Ekiti, Ido-Osi Local Government secured 90 per cent of valid votes cast.
He scored 218 out of 242 valid votes cast at the unit.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Biodun Oyebanji recieved 15 votes, while All People’s Party (APP) secured three votes, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got two, and NNPP two votes.
One vote was voided, while the remaining seven were rejected; bringing the total number of accredited voters to 250.
The polling unit has 639 registered voters.
Ezenwoko’s Blog recalls the SDP spokesperson in Ekiti, Gani Salau, while reacting to a report that Oni withdrew from the gubernatorial race this morning expressed confidence in winning the election.
He said: that Oni has not withdrawn from the race and that the letter is “a figment of the imagination of the opposition.
“Segun Oni is not withdrawing. How can he withdraw on the day of the election? It is the work of opposition.
“We are on the verge of victory and we are going to triumph. Unfortunately, such a letter is being circulated.”
