Chief Imam’s Son Bitten By Snake While Escaping From Kidnappers
One of the sons of the Chief Imam of Yangoji Central Mosque, Kwali Area Council of Abuja, Aliyu Abubakar Usman, who was abducted has been bitten by a snake while escaping from the kidnapper’s den.
Gunmen had two weeks ago abducted the chief Imam, Abdullahi Abubakar Gbedako, alongside his two children from his Yangoji home.
A family member of the chief Imam who spoke with DailyTrust on condition of anonymity said Usman escaped from his abductors last Thursday but was bitten by a snake in the bush.
He said, “Actually, the senior son of the chief imam, Usman Abubakar, was able to escape from the kidnappers’ hideout, last Thursday, but unfortunately, he was bitten by a snake inside the bush and he is currently receiving treatment at a traditional medicine place, which I can’t disclose now for security reasons. And you are aware that his father and younger brother are still in captivity.”
According to the family member, Usman’s family are still sourcing money to secure the release of the Chief Imam and his other son.
It was disclosed that the kidnappers requested N10 million ransom before the chief imam and his two sons would be released.
In another development, the former Senator representing Bauchi Central in the National Assembly, Abdul Ningi, has lost his mother to an undisclosed illness.
Ezenwoko’s Blog gathered that the mother of the chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hajiya Abu, died on Sunday in Ningi town of Bauchi State.
