APGA Reacts As Court Orders INEC To Delete Andy Uba From Records

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has reacted to the court ruling which nullified the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State.

Ezenwoko’s Blog earlier reported that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Monday, had ruled that Senator Andy Uba is not a valid candidate of the APC for the 2021 Anambra governorship election held on November 6.

The court in a ruling on Monday by the presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo said the APC didn’t conduct a valid primary election.

Ekwo further instructed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to delete all records about Uba’s participation in the Anambra governorship polls from its records.

Reacting to the judgement in an interview with The PUNCH, APGA National Chairman, Victor Oye, commended the court for nullifying Uba’s emergence as APC governorship candidate.

He lambasted Uba for failing to accept that APGA’s Chukwuma Soludo won the Anambra governorship election and is the governor-elect.

Oye also gave kudos to the judiciary for showing courage in the face of adversity and intimidation by APC members.

He said, “It was the right decision to reach by the court in the face of the absurdities that occurred during the APC governorship primary in Anambra State.

“The worst mistake Andy Uba made was not to have accepted defeat after the November 6, 2021 election adjudged by the whole world as free, fair and credible.

“So, we are glad that the Nigerian judiciary has continued to show courage and fairness in the face of adversity.”
