APC Takes Step To Vacate Court Order Stopping National Convention

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has employed lawyers to help vacate a court order restraining the party from conducting its national convention.

National Secretary of the APC Caretaker Committee, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, made this known in a chat with reporters at the party’s secretariat on Tuesday in Abuja.

He, however, asked the judiciary to expedite the hearing of the matter in order for the APC to conduct a transparent and rancour-free national convention.

“The party has engaged a team of senior lawyers to address a purported court order halting the planned APC National Convention

“We hereby call on the judiciary to give the matter the needed and expedient attention in our bid to vacate the purported court order and allow for the conduct of a transparent and rancour-free national convention deserving of our great party, APC,” he said.

Meanwhile, the ruling party has fixed ₦20m as the sales price for its national chairmanship nomination form.

Those interested in the Deputy National Chairmanship positions of the APC will pay ₦10 million while other positions in the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party will attract ₦5 million each as the price for nomination forms.

The positions are expected to be filled during the National Convention of the party scheduled to hold on Saturday, 26th March 2022.

The interested aspirants have until Friday, March 18 to be pick up their nomination forms, Ezenwoko’s Blog understands.
