Anambra Decides: Deputy Governor, Okeke Votes, Reveals Party Voted For (Photos)
The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Nkem Okeke, has cast his vote at his polling unit, Umueze Awozu, Enugwu-Ukwu Ward 3, polling unit 005.
Okeke who recently dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance for the All Progressives Congress upon his arrival at his polling unit waited for a while because of the high turnout of voters was later captured to vote.
The Deputy Governor who arrived at the polling unit at exactly 10:04 am, revealed that he voted for the governorship candidate of the APC.
He said, “I had to reveal my ballot paper because they have been rumours that I had defected back to APGA, but that is not true. You just saw that I voted for my party, APC.”
Okeke commended the Biometric Voters Accreditation System (BVAS), saying the system presents a seamless voting process.
“This is the easiest that I have had in voting ever. The process is very seamless and as you can see, I have just voted. In other elections, I have always had the problem of fingerprint, but this is different and seamless.”
In a related development, Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has voted in the ongoing governorship election in the South-East state.
Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that the governor alongside his wife, Ebelechukwu Obiano, voted around 9:25 am at their polling unit located inside Eri Primary School, Polling Unit 004, Otuocha Ward Ward 1, Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area.
