Akande played great role in founding APC – Abbas
The Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, has congratulated former Governor of Osun State, Bisi Akande, who clocks 85 on Tuesday, January 16.
Abbas, in a congratulatory message to the first Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, signed by his media aide, Musa Krisha, commended Akande for his roles as one of the founding fathers of the ruling party.
“He played a great role as one of the founding fathers of our great party, the APC,” the message read in part.
The Speaker noted that the solid foundation laid by Akande and other progressives for the APC has sustained the party in power since 2015 and prayed God to grant him good health in his continuous service to the nation.
In a related development, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Benjamin Kalu, in a congratulatory message to the elder statesman described Akande as “A great leader who has continued to pursue the unity and progress of Nigeria with zeal and zest.”
