The Federal Government through the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has launched Nigeria’s Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy at the ongoing Conference of Parties in Dubai.

This was disclosed in a statement by Gbenga Saka, Special Adviser on Digital Media to the Aviation minister, Festus Keyamo, on Monday.

This statement partly read, “In a moment of privilege and honour, he officially launched Nigeria’s Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy. This document serves as a testament to the nation’s unwavering dedication to achieving sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.”

He officially launched Nigeria’s Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy, emphasising the nation’s unwavering dedication to adopting environmentally responsible practices.

He said this landmark initiative signifies Nigeria’s transition from fossil fuels to low-emission fuel, contributing to the net zero goal across all sectors of the economy.

This strategy is designed to accelerate sustainable economic progress, address the challenge of climate change, and stimulate low-carbon growth

“The event marked a significant milestone in Nigeria’s pursuit of a low-carbon future,” he noted.

The launch of this Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy further cements Nigeria’s position in the global environmental movement.
