Updated: Controversy As Unknown Gunmen Reportedly Abducts Okorocha’s In-Law, Uche Nwosu
The son-in-law of the former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwosu, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.
It was disclosed that Nwosu was abducted on Sunday morning at about 11: 55 am at the front of St Peter’s Anglican Church in Eziama in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo state.
A further report had it that the gunmen men numbering over 10, shot sporadically before they dragged Nwosu into a white bus and drove to an unknown destination.
He said: “He was dragged out from the church as he was coming out and put in a car and drove away to an unknown place. They shot severally before picking Nwosu. Everywhere is hot now. They are men armed up to 10.”
The spokesman of the state police command, Mike Abattam, while speaking with Daily Trust disclosed that Nwosu was arrested, however, he did not reveal the reason for his arrest.
The associates of the former Governorship candidate had accused the state Governor, Hope Uzodinma of being behind the abduction.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state, Declan Emelumba, in his reaction stated that the governor has not hand in the development.
He further stated that it was ridiculous to allege that the Imo State Governor is responsible for the disappearance of Nwosu.
Recall that Nwosu contested under the Action Alliance in the Imo State governorship election before defecting to the All Progressives Congress.
