Lone crash worsens Lagos-Ibadan expressway traffic

A lone accident which occurred at the foot of the Otedola Bridge on Monday compounded the traffic situation on that end of the popular Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and other traffic officials had a hectic time controlling the resultant traffic jam.
Motorists travelling inwards Ibadan on the expressway were caught up in the gridlock that reportedly extended to Ojota Bridge in Lagos.
According to a message posted on the official Twitter handle of LASTMA, @followlastma, the lone accident that involved a trailer occurred at about 1.40 pm.
The statement read, “A lone accident involving a loaded trailer has occurred at the foot of Otedola bridge inwards Berger.
“Effect on traffic is obvious as the resultant backlog of traffic is already at Motorway-7up/Ojota Bridge.”
LASTMA also announced that a tanker loaded with Petroleum Motor Spirit fell and caught fire in Epe on Monday.
The message by LASTMA read, “A tanker loaded with PMS fell on its side at T-Junction Epe inward Ketu Ejirin. Men of @LagosRescue were on the ground to extinguish the fire.”
