Film Maker Arrested For Impersonating Regina Daniels
An Abuja film maker has been taken into custody by the police for impersonating Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
The alleged impersonator identified as Richard Sylvanus had opened Youtube and Gmail accounts posing as the actress.
Sylvanus had reportedly defrauded unsuspecting individuals of the sum of N1m. He was arrested after Regina’s lawyers informed the police of his nefarious activities.
DSP Josephine Adeh spokesperson of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed the incident.
She said: “Sylvanus is in our custody. The police swung into action after getting a tip-off. He defrauded unsuspecting members of the public with an email, [email protected], and a Youtube account he opened to impersonate Regina Daniels.
“There is no relationship between the movie star and the Gmail and Youtube accounts used in perpetrating these criminal acts.
“Members of the public are, therefore, urged to take note and not fall victim to such snares as many other criminal ventures similar to this may be in existence. The matter is under diligent investigation.”
