Some unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits reportedly killed two people in Taraba State today.
Reports reaching Ezenwoko’s Blog revealed that the assailants on Tuesday stormed Rafinkada village of Wukari Local Government Council of the state and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.
Several others were said to have escaped the attack with degrees of injuries in the bloody attack which reportedly started on Monday night through the following morning.
Residents of the community who reportedly disclosed details of the incident to the Daily Post revealed that the attackers invaded the community when the people were deeply asleep.
According to him, some residents who fled into the bush during the attack are yet to return to the village while the whereabouts of some other members of the community were still unknown.
Confirming the attack, the Chairman of Wukari LGA, Adi Daniel, said he was informed that two persons were killed by the gunmen.
Though normalcy, according to him, had been restored to the community, the need for more security operatives to be deployed to the area, he believed, can no longer be ignored.
Meanwhile, some armed bandits have reportedly taken over two local governments in Sokoto State where they now have a new district head.
The State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal confirmed to newsmen in an interview on Monday that the terrorist group have in the last weekend killed no fewer than fifteen residents of Goronyo and Illela.
Ezenwoko’s Blog understands that the state police command had earlier denied that nobody was killed in the said councils, describing the reports as fake.
However, Tambuwal who appeared on Channels Television programme yesterday, confirmed the attack, noting that the victims were murdered during the raid which happened on Sunday night and last through Monday morning.
