‘Sad And Quite Touching’ – Buhari Mourns Pastor Odukoya’s Wife Death
President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with Pastor Taiwo Odukoya over the unfortunate death of his wife, Nomthi.
Buhari, in a statement on Wednesday, prayed that God comfort and give succour to Pastor Odukoya of the Fountain of Life Church, over the loss of his wife.
Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that this was disclosed in a statement signed the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
According to the statement, Buhari condoled with the cleric, his church, and Christendom in general over the unfortunate passage, describing it as “sad and quite touching.”
He urged Pastor Odukoya to bear the adversity with equanimity, being convinced that nothing could have happened without the knowledge and permission of Almighty God.
Buhari also prayed for strength for all who mourn the departed, asking God to give them fortitude to bear the loss.
Ezenwoko’s Blog had earlier reported that Pastor Taiwo Odukoya had confirmed the demise of his wife on his Instagram page on Tuesday, revealing that she died of cancer.
The deceased is said to have battled the dreaded disease for a period of two years.
Pastor Odukoya’s post read: “With deep regret and gratitude to God, we have to announce the passing of our Senior Pastor’s wife, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya.
“She battled cancer for the better part of 2 years, she stood on the Word of God, and she fought.
“We loved her with all our heart, but who are we to fight with the will of God.
“The truth is, at one point in our lives, we all will have to say goodbye. So for now, till we meet again in glory, Goodbye Pastor Nomthi,” the statement added.
