You’ve Been A Failure Since Joining PDP – APGA Chairman Tells Peter Obi

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Victor Oye, has described the former vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, as a “political failure”.

Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that Obi was elected the governor of Anambra state in 2006 while he was an APGA member. Obi was re-elected in 2011 due to his stellar performance in office and joined the PDP in 2014.

In an interview with Arise TV on Wednesday, Oye stated that Obi’s defection to the PDP has seen his political career take a tumble in the state and in the country.

The APGA chairman added that the former governor “cannot achieve anything” unless he returns to the party that made him Anambra governor.

Oye claimed that Obi reneged on his “vow” never to leave APGA, saying that the consequences of his action have started manifesting in Obi’s political career.

He said:  “Go to Anambra state, workers are paid every 25th to 27th of the month. No government since Peter Obi till now have failed in that responsibility.

“Remember that Peter Obi was in APGA, and he performed superlatively when he was in APGA, but the moment he left, the APGA spirit left him, and he never achieved anything ever since.

”If he wants to achieve anything politically, he should come back to APGA. Then we’ll now reignite the APGA spirit in him. That’s how it’s done. Let him continue going from pillar to pole.

“He cannot achieve anything because APGA gave him a platform, and he took a vow that he’ll never leave APGA until death does them apart.”

When asked to clear the air about his statement, Oye asserted that the APGA is not into occultism and does not have a cult orientation.

He said, “I did not mean a cult orientation when I said that Peter Obi vowed never to leave APGA till death do them part. What I said was an open thing and there is a video to that effect.

“For me, I believe in covenant. He made a covenant with God and not with APGA; is APGA God? He said he will never leave APGA until death does them part. That was what he said, it is open, I have the video.

“I am a Christian and I don’t have any business with cults; I don’t believe in that.

“My God is sufficient for me. What my God cannot do for me does not exist. In fact, what God cannot do for me, let it be. I am very proud of the God I serve.”
