Health Ground An Escape Route – Nigerians React As Abba Kyari Sues FG

The decision of the former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari to sue the Federal Government over his continued detention has stirred reactions online.

Recall that the Nigeria Police Force last week arrested the suspended head of the IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and handed him over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)

NDLEA had declared Kyari wanted after he was linked to drug trafficking alongside four other police operatives.

Kyari ever since his arrest had been in the detention of the NDLEA where he is being grilled over his involvement in alleged drug trafficking.

The embattled police officer on Monday dragged the federal government before a Federal High Court in Abuja in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/182/22.

Kyari in the suit is seeking an order of the court to immediately release him. He wants the court to admit him to bail in liberal conditions.

He is also appealing to the court to compel the NDLEA to grant him bail on health grounds, pending the hearing and determination of his fundamental right enforcement application.

Some Nigerians in their reaction claimed that the elite uses health grounds as a means to escape justice and detention.
