2023: Tinubu Is Not From Lagos, He’s From Osun – Bode George
Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has claimed that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, is not an indigene of Lagos State.
Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that the PDP stalwart made the claim during his appearance on Arise News on Monday, December 20, 2021.
George alleged that Tinubu is an indigene of Iragbiji town in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, adding that the former Lagos governor has failed to acknowledge his country home.
The PDP chieftain added that the APC national leader has continued to lie about his state of origin, qualifications and other personal matters, saying that he cannot be trusted.
Goerge asked the former Lagos governor to shelve his ambition of becoming the next President of the country and allow a younger and trustworthy candidate to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari
Recall that Tinubu had said that he will not reject calls to take over power from President Muhammadu Buhari at the end of his tenure in 2023.
Tinubu stated this after a closed-door meeting with leaders of the Northern Alliance Committee in Abuja.
The former Governor of Lagos State who failed to officially declare his ambition, said political consultations are ongoing.
He had said, “I am not going to turn them down, voices that clamour for his candidacy.
“But I will still effective and widely consult, particularly brainstorm with my friends and find a date to come out openly and tell Nigerians.
“But the President is still in office. I don’t want to distract him from all the challenges he might face today. So, don’t muddle the political waters. Consult, make our program known to the people later. And the intention is clear. So you can keep guessing.”
