2023 Presidency: Nigerians React As Atiku Visits IBB In Minna
Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the visit of the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the former military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.
Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that Abubakar visited IBB at his Uphill residence in Minna, Niger State on Monday and met behind closed doors in a meeting that lasted for about one hour.
Amidst rumour that he is planning to join the presidential race in 2023, the former presidential candidate also visited the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani-Bello.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting with Governor Bello, Atiku said he would declare his 2023 presidential ambition at the appropriate time but was only in the state on a courtesy call.
The chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) added that he was in Niger to commiserate with the Governor over the recent killings in various communities in the state.
“I am on courtesy call that is all. In the 2023 Presidential election, I will let you know at the appropriate time, I will let you know at the appropriate time,” he said.
However, some Nigerians have criticised the comments made by the PDP stalwart on Twitter while others urged him to declare his presidential ambition.

It’s time to be a statesman. Personal ambition can’t override national unity. It’s time for the south to produce president in 2023. You have benefited from zoning previously. So it’s time to show understanding.

I believe you’ve had your shot. 2015 was your best chance. Now, for the sake of fairness, pick a worthy southern candidate and support.

Atiku, Bola Tinibu, Saraki, Tambuwal, Kalu and other aspirants often visit Niger State for consultations but I never see anybody go to SE or any igbo land to consult any igbo identified power broker for consultations! It’s clear.. sorry
