2023: ‘Gov Wike, Others Decides Atiku’s Fate’

2023: PDP Chieftain Discloses Only Solution To Atiku, Wike Rift

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday officially flagged off its presidential campaign in Akwa Ibom State.

Ezenwoko’s Blog had earlier reported that the event was held at the Nest of Champions Stadium in Uyo, the state capital.

PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in all efforts to bring everyone on board ahead of the 2023 general elections, however, saw the camp of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike ignore the campaign.

Governor Wike, Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde were absent from the event on Monday.

The camp of the Rivers State Governor has kept its distance from the activities of the main opposition party, amidst their call for the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu to resign from office.

Meanwhile, a source that spoke with the Daily Post on the decisions of the governors, who are now referred to as G-5, said they have sealed Atiku’s fate.

According to the source, the stand of the governors remains that if Ayu refuses to resign, they would not be part of PDP’s presidential campaign.

The source said, “Both Atiku and Ayu are obstinate to the calls for the national chairman’s resignation; what it means is that they don’t value the support of these governors. So, the G-5 Governors have also decided not to move an inch from their stand.

“They made that point clear again today in Uyo and there is no going back; these Governors have been the ones sustaining the party, but Atiku and Ayu came from nowhere and want to rubbish them. Let’s see how far they will go.”
