2023 Election: APC Vows To Oust PDP In Enugu
The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has vowed to oust the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Ezenwoko’s Blog understands that the party made the declaration in a statement issued at the end of the maiden meeting of the new State Executive Committee (SEC) in Enugu on Monday, November 8.
APC boasted that the party is now in a very good form to challenge the ruling PDP in the State, capitalizing on the dwindling electoral value of PDP among the citizenry.
The Enugu State opposition party urged its members and residents of the state who are yet to register or apply for transfer of voter cards to immediately do so, taking advantage of the ongoing INEC voter registration exercise.
In the communique signed by the Chairman, Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah and Secretary, Hon. Robert Ngwu, the APC said that the 2021 Executive of APC Enugu State with Agballah as chairman has taken full control of the party structure in the state following their emergence at the October 16 state congress.
APC further states in the communique that the new leadership of the party in Enugu will form a formidable force that is capable of ousting PDP from the leadership position of the state.
APC added: “Our vote is the only weapon we have against bad governance and political tyranny.
“That the new leadership, in her determination to re-energize all organs of the party in the state, has directed the compulsory holding of monthly Ward, Local Government and Zonal meetings of the party, while the State Working Committee and State Executive Committee will also meet regularly.
“The party has reestablished the statutory monthly payment of dues by members, stakeholders, and former/present political appointees of the party. The exact dues will soon be worked out for the various categories. This will ensure equal ownership of the party by all and not a few stakeholders, as well as self-funding and internal revenue for the party,” the communique stated.
The party directed the Ward, LG and Zonal leadership of the party to establish offices at strategic locations, preferably, at buildings along major roads, with party flags mounted conspicuously.
“The Ward and Local Government Executives have been directed to go back and start genuine reconciliation and harmonization across the rank and file of the Party. Members of the Party are hereby directed to cease and desist from all libellous Social Media attacks against APC Leaders and Members. All future attacks should be channelled to the opposition party. Henceforth, any attack on leaders and members of the Party in Enugu State will be severely sanctioned,” the statement added.
