Oyo: Police Parade 23 Suspects, Recovers 4 Double Barrel Guns, 3 Axes, Others

No fewer than 23 suspected criminals were on Friday paraded for series of heinous crimes at the Oyo State Police Command Headquarter Eleyele Ibadan.

The suspected criminals, according to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ngozi Onadeko, were arrested in their different hideouts and have confessed to their crimes.

Among the paraded suspected criminals was a gang of armed robbers that specializes in robbing Okada riders.

CP Onadeko, in a press release made available to pressmen on the development, said the suspects, Wasiu Amide, male, aged 19, Ibrahim Ajibade,15, Alade Shuaib,15, Bidemi Afolabi, 20, Basit Kehinde, 16, Bello Gbolahan, 16, Ibrahim Semiu 28 were arrested for dispossessed one Ganiyu Azeez aged 31 of his Bajaj Motorcycle and also inflicted serious bodily injury on him.

According to a copy of the press release signed by the State Police Public Relation Officer DSP Adewale Osifeso, made available to Reporters in Ibadan, Oyo State capital stated that Onadeko on Wednesday 5th May, 2021, one Ganiyu Azeez ‘m’ aged 31 years came to Mapo Divisional Police Headquarters to report how he had come across a group of hoodlums, who dispossessed him of his Bajaj motorcycle and inflicted serious body injuries on him.

Upon receipt of this information, a team of policemen swiftly dashed to the scene and arrested the said hoodlums, recovered the stolen motorcycle and the cutlass through which bodily injury was inflicted.

Investigation is still in progress to ensure that other unscrupulous elements involved in this unlawful act are brought to book.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects are one Bajaj motorcycle, and cutlass.
