The World Igbo Peoples Assembly WIPAS, has warned killer herdsmen still hiding in Igbo forests to flee in their own interest.
The Igbo group criticized the southeast governors over the alleged inability to rise against insecurity and escalation of the crisis in the region.
WIPAS in a press release by its Chairman of Board of Trustees (BoT), Mazi Chuks Ibegbu, on Tuesday, called on security agents to arrest all the killer herdsmen in Igbo land.
The group insisted that the attacks by unknown gunmen on security agents, prisons and police stations and the killing of innocent persons by killer herdsmen must be discussed in a roundtable to find a solution to the security challenges ravaging the entire states in the southeast zone.
The Igbo Assembly warned the Nigerian security agents to stop harassing operatives of the Eastern Security Network and called for synergy between IPOB’s ESN and Ebubeagu established by the south governors’ forum.
“The governors in the Southeast were proactive, the ESN could not have been formed but since they are doing a great job, there is nothing wrong with them, “the WIPAS added.
The organization called on all Igbo men and women to be security conscious in their respective locations.
