A federal high court sitting in Lagos issued a bench warrant for arrest of former National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Director-General, Ayo Oke and his wife Folashade Oke on Thursday after they failed to appear before it for arraignment.
Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke had directed that Ambassador Ayodele Oke and wife, Folasade Oke be arrested anywhere they are sighted across the world.
The order followed an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) asking the court to issue a bench warrant for their arrest. The commission explained in the application that it is finding it difficult to secure their attendance in court.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had filed a four-count charges against them in connection with the $43 million, £27,000 and N23 million discovered in April 2017.
